The Rectory
Pavilion Landscapes were responsible for all the planting and soft landscaping, including the lifting of and moving some well established trees.
This extensive restoration project was completed to a very high specification and the landscaping was no different. Working to the designs of landscape architect Bernard Hickie, Pavilion Landscapes took the project from a building site to a completed garden. The client really liked the feeling from the old garden which was originally planted sometime in the 60’s with some older specimens so many existing mature trees were lifted, root balled and transplanted to different areas of the garden in order to retain that feeling. Work was then carried out to prune and top other well established specimens. New, well established trees were also specially sourced and added to the garden.
The project required a high degree of detail with a number of specimen trees. The architectural qualities of some existing shrubs and trees were further accentuated by pruning the lower portions, lifting the canopy and exposing the basel flare of the plant.
A large container garden was positioned on the roof of a part of the building to provide privacy and shelter for both the residents and the neighbours. Additional large planters were added to areas of the garden to allow for seasonal planting and winter interest.
The extensive lawn has an underground irrigation system and the entire garden is illuminated by a timed lighting system.
